So, thank you Jorge for being here. let me start by introducing you this is Jorge Cepeda, CEO of ExcelAG, a successful and thriving agrochemical company based in the USA and distributor. You
actually, sell your products worldwide all over the USA and you’re in different markets not just agriculture. Also, in animal and turf and i guess in the cleaning sector as well.
So, let me just get you know straight to the point. Let me start from the beginning. What were you doing before we engaged as it relates to HR and what jobs were you trying to fill?
Jorge:
Before working with you we had our own recruiting efforts. Occasionally we use recruiting companies in very rare occasions and of course that represents a lot of effort not always a successful effort. So, when we met you we found the option of improving what we were doing before.
Eduardo:
Wonderful, wonderful and what problems were you having filling the roles that you had,
because I believe we worked on a couple of opportunities. I mean what strategies were you trying and what were your frustrations with that with that process?
Jorge:
Ah generally in our case in our industry at least in Miami we have been experiencing high rotation. High rotation especially in the administration side of the business. We also had, we still have on many occasions difficulties in trying to attract salespeople in other states of United States. We are mainly working in Florida, California and Texas, we still have that need and of course recruiting is expertise especially that naturally we lack and like I said, we spent too much time. We never had the opportunity to have constant success in recruiting and so forth. So those were the issues that we had.
Eduardo:
Wonderful and where did you first hear about us? I mean, what picked your interest?
Jorge:
I think it was a personal connection between my wife’s networks and yours, yeah and somehow we got connected.
Eduardo:
Right, and why did you decide to do business with us?
Jorge:
Because of the way you presented the business model I should say. That is very straight to the point, easy to work with. You know clear rules of the game, less complicated and straighter in results. That’s pretty much what it happens here.
Eduardo:
Wonderful yeah, that was going
to be my next question. Would you mind describing how it was working with us, and what areas you got the most value and why do you think that is?
Jorge:
Well like I said you know you save a lot of time for us. You take the time to screen the candidates properly, and when you bring a candidate to us, they pretty much fit what we need. So again, you save a lot of time, you have the skill the ability to meet our needs. Sometimes it’s very quick, sometimes it’s not, but we’re not in a rush, we prefer to have the right candidate in the right position.
Eduardo:
Right and what results did you achieve by working with us? Would you describe the transformation?
Jorge:
Pretty much the we have been able to upgrade the personnel that we had. We have been able to bring talent that was superior that we had before and all of that has been achieving a competitive manner. Meaning that we didn’t overpay, we didn’t underpay, just right in the middle of the scale of the market. I think it’s a win-win situation for everybody.
Eduardo:
That’s what we like to hear and let me ask you Jorge. How likely are you to recommend us and why would somebody listening to this video take action right now?
Jorge:
You know if you are in a situation where you need to fill positions properly, with the right screening, with the right profile, with the right talent, with the right pay in the compensation that we have it in your company hours. I think that you are the proper company to go with and in south Florida like I said, it’s not easy to get to many companies like yours especially that fit the description that I mentioned before. So yeah, I would highly recommend to anybody that goes along those lines.
Eduardo:
Wonderful, thank you and let me ask you do you know what was your ROI from working with us? Just ballpark your return on investment.
Jorge:
Well, you know the payback that we normally try to look for, is you know try to get the money back in one year and sometimes it’s faster than that. So, I would say that ours in terms of payback is six to 12 months.
Eduardo:
Wonderful and do you have any idea what was your time to hire ratio. How your time to high rate improved? Just ballpark, you know working with us.
Jorge:
Do you mean number of years?
Eduardo:
Yeah, you know the amount of time it took for the role to be filled you know before.
Jorge:
It depends on the type of position. When the position has been not as complicated has been very quick in some cases. I mean 30 to 60 days. I think when we had to hire executives which is a more specialized type of role took longer. For example, the candidate that you found for us in the plant that took some time, because it was an important role and we had to make sure that the profile of the candidate was the perfect one. Not the right, the perfect one. For us, the supply chain is key in what we do. So that’s one extreme to the other, very quick identification when hiring candidates versus others that took longer, not because of you, but because of our need of confirming that it was your right hire. Yeah, so I think it’s a good balance you know this is not a negative on it, on the contrary it’s very good.
Eduardo:
Wonderful, yeah you know and we were going through COVID and all the problems related to that and we still were able to deliver an average time to hire with the couple positions that we worked over 32 days. Which is you know not bad at all. Alright, what else what else can we do to make your life easier in terms of business you know if there’s anything else that um that we might be able to assist you with?
Jorge:
You know so far, we’re in the right relationship, I think your services help us to fill the positions that we need, like I said in a very reasonable amount of time there are positions that we still are looking for like the sales Commission. It’s a tough one you know, not everybody was 100% based on commissions so that’s probably the immediate need that we’re still in the search of.
Eduardo:
Wish you continued success in your company. I know you’ve been doing and hiring all through covet so that makes me you know very happy that your companies continue growing and even through challenging times you continue to hire and you continue to sell your products, and so great job.
