Logistics Coordinator Job in Miami
JOB TITLE: Logistics Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Logistics
STATUS: Hourly – Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Import/Export Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
The logistics coordinator assists with the import/export process and ensures compliance with US and foreign government laws and regulations. Helps resolve any freight problems that may arise. May be responsible for planning and scheduling to ensure shipments arrive on time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs bookings with airlines and follow up
- Prepares shipping documentation for airlines
- Assigns Phytosanitary Certificates and prepares weekly shipments
- Manage, check and mark all Bills of Lading
- Assists with FEDEX freight charges and costs entry.
- Tracks carrier shipments and helps with requesting credits when cargo is delayed
- Follows up with customer service team when cargo is delayed or has issues
- Checks the inventory control of surplus with the warehouse team, and report discrepancies
- Receive driver route documents and review and mark assigned route territory
- Send margin errors to the purchasing team for adjustments and corrections
- Evaluate and process charges for air carriers (FEDEX, AA, SW, Cal-Air, and Global)
- Book global shipments using Webtrak for assigned air carriers
- Send weekly GOI documentation
- Send and follow up on a Proofs of Delivery
- Helps with scheduling and coordinating domestic, international, and foreign-to foreign shipments
- Assists in the coordination and expedition of import and export processes as required
- Provide and maintain good internal and external customer service and help to resolve problems and issues constructively.
- Have basic knowledge of all other logistics duties in order to provide backup when needed.
- Monitor and match up credit card receipts and payment on company credit cards
- Prepare check requests and SPA (Special Payment Authorization) forms for Logistics Department
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field required
- 2+ years of related experience
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of domestic and international regulations
- Strong organization skills and ability to follow up
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Horticulture or floriculture experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer usage
- Able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods
- Willingness to submit to a drug and background check
- Willingness to submit to Covid-19 Vaccine
- Able to lift up to 25lbs; squat, bend, pull and push, and climb stairs
